The Glaciers we introduced and invited into the meditation are: Anderson Glacier (United States) Pico Humbolt (Venezuela) Monte Perdido & Aneto (Spain) Hofsjökull (Iceland) Santa Isabel (Colombia) You can find all of their stories in the Global Glacier Casualty List https://glaciercasualtylist.rice.edu Episode hosted by Néfur in collaboration with activist and NGO founder Marcela Fernández from Cumbres Blancas Colombia and climate anthropologist Cymene Howe from Rice University and Global Glacier Casualty List. In recent years, singer, composer & sound-artist Néfur has recorded the sounds of Icelandic glaciers, has sung with them and listened with them, while also creating original compositions, performances, workshops and meditative sound journeys uniting her voice to the ones of glaciers.

20. Listening to the Ancestral Wisdom of Glaciers: a conversation with Antje Howard from Ancestral Arts Festival

Welcome back to The Glacier's Song podcast! In this episode, I dive into the importance of connecting to glaciers as our ancestors and as our elders which are -in their own geological scale of time- exhaling their last breath. I delve into why is important to be present with them in this moment, to listen, and to hold their hand. This conversation has been part of the Ancestral Arts Festival, directed and curated by Antje Howard. Find more interviews here: ancestral-arts.com This episode includes a 10min guided practice: a Listening Ritual where you can connect with your own presence, listen to the sounds of Glaciers, and Explore Your Voice in dialogue with the soundscape.
