The first thing you need to do is keep it simple. Zig Zigler said: Keep It Simple Stupid. K.I.S.S. Why should we keep it simple? If you’ve been doing something for years and it just hasn’t been working it’s probably time you let it go. Let me explain what I mean by this. I once was exercising and I was about 35 years old and I had this tremendous epiphany and it said to me, “Cesar, if you had only kept consistent and kept it simple since the day you started exercising, right now at 35 years old you would be in incredible shape. Cover model shape to be in fitness, Men’s health magazine.” Now, I’m in good shape, but I'm not in the shape to be in the cover of Men’s health magazine at the moment, I’m almost there. But, here’s the point of the epiphany that I had. I began exercising when I was 17 years old. I had that epiphany when I was 35. That is 13 years of exercising. 13 years. That is a very long time. Why was I not in that shape? Why are the people that go to the gym not I’m incredible and immaculate shape, in covers of magazines and stuff? Why? Because we are not keeping it simple. That epiphany taught me something very interesting. It said to me, “if you had only just from the time you were 17 years old, just started exercising 10 minutes a day, but stuck to those 10 minutes, just kept it simple, just 10 minutes everyday, it would have created a compound effect. Like a snowball effect. And that’s what happens when we do something consistently and we keep it simple. The concept of keeping things simple can be tied to the fable of the tortoise and the hare. The hare wanted to be complex about it. We complicate life, we complicate things and because we complicate things we suffer. Our beauty and our success suffers. Big time. Sure you worked out your butt off when you were 19 years old, but what happened why did you stop? One reason only, you got burnt out. You cannot keep doing something consistently that requires too much work. It’s the reason why professional athletes retire at a young age. The human body cannot keep going at that pace. I’m not speaking against competitive sports, but what I am saying is that when it came to your fitness, for example, you complicated things, you created a fake reality. In life to be beautiful and successful, keep it simple. When it comes to your success and your beauty, specially at the age of 40, keep it simple.
