The Leaders Table
Most people assume calling is something God drops into your lap like a job title. Pastor. CEO. MMA Fighter. Something specific you either find or miss. It's paralyzing a lot of Christians. But David’s life tells a different story. He wasn’t waiting for a mystical voice to announce “King.” He was becoming the kind of man who could carry responsibility when the moment came. He had courage before he knew the “job.” Calling is often less about a specific title and more about the kind of person God is forming. God is more concerned with the nature of your calling than the expression of it. If you're not enough of a man or woman of God without a title, you'll never be enough with it. For David, his calling included leadership, courage, worship, and deep dependence on God. Kingship was simply one arena where those qualities would eventually be revealed.
