Andrew Breitbart famously said, "Politics is downstream from culture", which is at least partially true. Clearly our politics are also very much a part of our culture, but there remains a cultural origin of our form of Self Government. How well "We the People" remain connected to those cultural beginnings will have a political impact on our understanding of things like natural rights and the political will that serves to preserve or abandon them.
