On this episode I talk with my great friend and musical Director Jose Longoria from Houston, Texas. He is an award-winning performer and educator, and the director of Mariachi Imperial de America. His mariachi has performed internationally in Canada, China, India, and Armenia, and has won awards at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. In 2022, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner proclaimed July 19th to be Jose Longoria day in recognition of the musician and community leader’s cultural contributions to the city of Houston.
