Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser is the San Francisco Symphony’s Resident Conductor of Engagement and Education, bringing energy, warmth, and a deep connection to every performance.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, he is celebrated for his innovative approaches to music-making and his commitment to inclusivity, education, and community engagement. Beyond San Francisco, he holds leadership roles with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, and Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra. Daniel has conducted major orchestras across North America, including the New York Philharmonic and Los Angeles Philharmonic, and hosts CBC Radio’s Centre Stage.
His groundbreaking work has been featured in the award-winning documentary Disruptor Conductor, highlighting his dedication to bringing orchestral music to diverse and underserved audiences.
