This week, it's another epic What We've Been Watching episode - with our four Mulls bringing you another quartet of reviews discussing the films that you can watch now at home or at your local cinema. First, Richard takes us back to his childhood heroes as another 80s cartoon classic comes to the big screen in director Travis Knight's take on Masters of the Universe. Then, Darren gets a chance to catch up writer/director James Sweeney's Twinless - it was tricky to catch at the cinema at the start of the year, but is now available to stream online for those that want to see this twisty comedy/drama.  After that, Justin shares his thoughts on the first big screen outing for the Star Wars universe in 7 years as the Disney+ streaming hit - and Baby Yoda himself - gets their chance at movie glory in Mandalorian & Grogu. And finally, our host Neil reviews Over Your Dead Body - available to watch now on Prime Video, this action-comedy-thriller sees scream queen Samara Weaving partner up with Jason Segal alongside Timothy Olyphant and Juliette Lewis for a violent showdown in a cabin by a lake! That's what we've been watching... Listen in and then get in touch to tell us your thoughts about any of these movies, as well as what you've been watching recently.

Episode Confessions! Cover

Confessions!

For this week's pod, our host Richard wanted to elicit some true confessions from his fellow mulls!  The first confession being: what movies that are considered truly great, haven't we seen? Yes, we must confess, that - despite our love of movies - there are far too many great movies out there that we've never got around to watching.  For those of you who have previously listened to episodes and thought, "But, why on Earth haven't they mentioned ________?" - this show may well answer that question. To help get us thinking, we looked at the list of 100 movies that Empire Readers voted as the very best earlier in 2026.  Surely, if the readers of the 'world's greatest movie magazine' think that they are great, we should have seen them! So, why haven't we?  Listen in, and find out.... You can find the article with all 100 movies to compare with your own watchlist, here: https://www.empireonline.com/movies/features/best-movies-2/

What We've Been Watching - Judgement Night, One Life, Bring Her Back, Apex

This week, our four mulls have gathered once more to share with you four film reviews - helping you decide what to watch this week. First up, our host Justin - on the recommendation of a fellow mull - heads back to the largely forgotten 1993 action thriller, Judgement Day from director Stephen Hopkins and featuring the quartet of Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jeremy Piven and Stephen Dorff. Then, Neil has a chance to tell us about the recent drama film telling the true life story of British humanitarian Nicholas Winton - One Life - which stars both Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Flynn as Mr Winton at different periods of his life.  Next, Darren shares his review of last year's Bring Her Back. It's taken him nearly a whole year to work up the courage to watch the latest supernatural horror movie from Australian duo Danny and Michael Philippou whose debut feature Talk To Me terrified him a year ago... Should you brave it too? (Spoiler: Yes!) And, finally, Richard discusses the latest straight to Netflix action thriller. Is this one worth your time? It just might be. He shares all of the highs and lows of Apex starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton.    That's what we've been watching... Listen in and then get in touch to tell us your thoughts about any of these movies, as well as what you've been watching recently.

Episode 1985 - A Year in Movies Cover

1985 - A Year in Movies

This week on the podcast we "gotta get back in time" - and if you just sang those 5 words to the same tune as Huey Lewis and the News, then you are in the right place? For this episode, our four mulls are heading back to 1985, the year that  - cinematically - saw the arrival on our screens of The Goonies, Axel Foley, Freddy Krueger... and, of course, Doc and Marty in Back to the Future.  Beyond the world of the movies, 1985 also saw the arrival of our youngest 'mull'!  We reflect on our favourite movies, the ones that we've rewatched the most, the ones we missed and, briefly, the worst... before attempting to determine what might be 'objectively' the greatest movie of the year.  Listen in and let us know all the movies that you remember from 1985!   PS Apologies for the confusion about the release date of one of our favourite comedies from the year - CLUE! - which was indeed released in 1985.  The error in research was all mine (says Darren!).
