In which the somber company encounters the lifeless form of a Capuchin friar, whose face and presence awaken in Miriam a haunting and intricate reflection on mortality and guilt. They are then led through a ghastly subterranean cemetery of bones and skulls, a macabre testament to the passage of time and the sanctuary of death beneath the convent walls.
