Have you ever pondered why is it that we tend to see communities of color living in places that don't seem quite to the standards of where we imagine and/or see white people live? I take a dive into explaining and analyzing two readings that explain the simultaneous undervalue placed on black people while also extracting monetary value from them. The two readings I reference coming from the book A World More Concrete: Real Estate and the Remaking of Jim Crow South Florida by N.D.B. Connolly and Family Properties by Beryl Satter.
