The Pity Party Podcast Ep203 | Fashionably Disabled

In this episode #fashion is the topic of discussion, and how fashion and #disability intersect. Welcome to another episode of the Pity Party. In our society today, fashion plays a huge role in how others may view you. What you wear and how you present yourself play a part in how the world perceives you, and as people with disabilities, it’s important to break the assumptions people may have on their first impressions. As 3 Muslim women with disabilities, we discuss our experiences with fashion and comfort in regards to our disabilities. Topics of Hijab styling, dressing in colours and styles that affect and stimulate moods, especially those with mental illness and disabilities, as well as dressing appropriately for our comfort and respectability are discussed. Join our conversation, and let us know what your sense of style is, and how fashion may affect your life!
