The Scales of Truth
If there is anything about which individuals should be expected to disagree, it is about which side of a foreign war to support, and particularly whether to support either side directly with your own money. After all, wars mean aggression and death. A naturally organic thing to have an opinion on. And yet, in the Bizarro World that we live in in 2026, a governor purporting to be from the party allegedly about free markets and government being less centralized threatens a local city when it just discovers what its tax dollars are supporting - no less than war bonds for another country - and is considering getting out of the business of being a city that directly supports foreign powers and war. ====================================================== TWO PARTS TO THIS EPISODE: 1. The general idea - it is true (this is less researched, but still I believe well established. See description and links below. 2. The threat letter from a Republican Governor (Abbott, from Texas) saying that for the city of San Marcos to have an opinion on what they should invest in (at least when it is THIS topic) is a violation of the law and that he will take away state grants from them. The thing is, and it won't surprise you given the motivation... he's full of sh*t and is totally misstating the law (on behalf of another nation who doesn't believe in our laws) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That said, I'll give you sources in reverse. SOURCES FOR #2 ABOVE, HERE'S THE LETTER, FROM PUPPETED, BLACK-MAGICK CONTROLLED GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT* TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS [https://gov.texas.gov/uploads/files/press/Letter_to_San_Marcos_04.29.25.pdf]. * (hey dips*#t, the Jesus you report to love and follow is a false idol in the eyes of your puppeteers (I know, he's under a trance, so this point is probably futile, but I can try. I'm a communicator not a fighter)) SOURCES FOR #1 ABOVE (THE CONCEPT BROADLY) * Breaking the Bonds Between U.S. Local and State Public Funds and the Occupation of Palestine [https://www.palestinepolicy.org/news/breaking-the-bonds-between-u-s-local-and-state-public-funds-and-the-occupation-of-palestine] * https://www.icij.org/news/2024/07/inside-the-sophisticated-sales-operation-funneling-billions-from-us-state-and-local-governments-to-israel/ [https://www.icij.org/news/2024/07/inside-the-sophisticated-sales-operation-funneling-billions-from-us-state-and-local-governments-to-israel/] * https://ladylibertie.substack.com/p/how-to-spot-the-israel-money-machine [https://ladylibertie.substack.com/p/how-to-spot-the-israel-money-machine] * https://www.reddit.com/r/TexasPolitics/comments/1kn22y0/why_is_my_taxpayer_money_funding_foreign/ [https://www.reddit.com/r/TexasPolitics/comments/1kn22y0/why_is_my_taxpayer_money_funding_foreign/] * https://www.txbiz.org/2025/03/18/solidifying-the-texas-israel-relationship-to-strengthen-our-economic-future/ [https://www.txbiz.org/2025/03/18/solidifying-the-texas-israel-relationship-to-strengthen-our-economic-future/] ----------------------------------------------------------- AS TO THE AI SUMMARY, HERE'S A PASTE OF THAT. Again, not checked fact by fact, but seems to be mostly on the money (no pun intended): > Some U.S. cities and counties may be directly funding Israel through investments in "Israel Bonds" without full public awareness, as these funds often come from property taxes and public pension funds managed by local officials. Since 2023, U.S. states and municipalities have purchased over $1.7 billion in Israeli sovereign bonds, with some officials promoting these investments as patriotic support during wartime. > > Local funding mechanisms include property tax revenues and public employee pension funds being invested in Israel Bonds, which are marketed as secure financial instruments but carry political and legal risks. For example, Palm Beach County has invested $700 million of constituent property taxes in these bonds, making it the world's largest government investor in Israel Bonds. Critics argue these investments may violate Prudent Investor Standards and local investment policies due to Israel's downgraded credit rating (now **Baa1**, below the **AA** required by many jurisdictions). > > Transparency gaps exist because: > > - Full donor and investment disclosures may not occur until after elections or budget cycles > > - Many residents are unaware their property taxes or pension contributions are invested abroad > > - Israel Bonds proceeds go to Israel's general budget with **no restrictions** on military or settlement use > > Advocacy groups like DAWN have filed complaints alleging Israel Bonds may operate as an unregistered foreign agent, while organizations such as Not My Tax Dollars campaign for divestment and greater transparency about where local tax revenues are invested. ================================================= * Please subscribe and follow on your favorite podcast platforms! * By the way - new email address - send me a message!
