In this episode, The Universe, as expressed through it's human part - Steve, talks about the point of life.  Looked at from one point of view, the question has no sense.  It's like asking "What is the point of that river?".  But from the point of view of a human, who has evolved to need meaning in life, it completely makes sense - and then it's a question of how each person discovers or creates meaning in their life, through the people and the world around them.
