The Victor Hugo Library
In which a weary traveller, having arrived at a provincial inn late in the evening, seeks to witness the proceedings of a criminal court still in session beyond usual hours. Amidst the murmuring groups of legal figures and the somber atmosphere of justice, he attempts to gain entry to the courtroom, ultimately resorting to a discreet note bearing a name of local authority.
