Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2500478/fan_mail/new] Why do two people with similar incomes have completely different relationships with money? Why does asking for a raise feel so uncomfortable? Why do we procrastinate investing, avoid checking our bank accounts, or feel guilty spending money on ourselves? In this episode of Unfiltered & Unapologetic, we're exploring the emotional side of money through the lens of behavioral finance and financial psychology. Because money isn't just about numbers. It's about our beliefs, our experiences, and the stories we've carried for years. Together, we'll explore: • Why financial decisions are often emotional before they're logical • How childhood experiences shape our relationship with money • Common money beliefs that may be influencing your financial habits • Why awareness is the first step toward changing your financial future • How understanding your money story can help you build wealth with more confidence and compassion This episode is for anyone who has ever felt anxious about money, struggled to start investing, avoided looking at their finances, or wondered why changing financial habits feels so difficult. Remember: Every financial decision tells a story. 5.

4. The Conversations We Never Had Growing Up: What We Inherited Beyond Traditions | A Dominican Perspective

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2500478/fan_mail/new] What if the things that shaped you the most weren't the lessons you were taught... but the conversations you never had? In this episode, I reflect on the emotional inheritance we receive from our families—the beliefs, communication patterns, silences, and unspoken expectations that influence how we love, relate to others, and understand ourselves. Speaking from my experience growing up in a Dominican family, we explore how every generation passes something down, and how we have the opportunity to decide what continues with us. This isn't about blaming our parents or criticizing our culture. It's about approaching our stories with curiosity, compassion, and recognizing that understanding our past gives us the freedom to build something different. In this episode, we talk about: 🤎 Emotional inheritance vs. traditions 🤎 The conversations many of us never had growing up 🤎 Why adulthood reveals what was missing 🤎 Gratitude and growth can exist together 🤎 What kind of emotional legacy we're creating Reflection Questions • What conversation do you wish someone had with you growing up? • What have you had to teach yourself as an adult? • What emotional legacy do you hope to leave behind? 3. What Happens When Boys Become Men Without Emotional Tools

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2500478/fan_mail/new] Men's Mental Health Month Special Episode Many boys are taught how to work hard, be responsible, stay strong, and take care of others. But who teaches them how to process grief, ask for help, communicate their needs, or understand their emotions? In this episode, we explore what happens when boys become men without emotional tools. We discuss the messages many people receive about strength growing up, why emotional support can feel uncomfortable to ask for, the difference between coping and processing, and how emotional habits are often shaped long before we have the ability to question them. This conversation isn't about blaming parents, families, or culture. It's about understanding how emotional patterns develop and how greater self-awareness can help us build healthier relationships with ourselves and others. Whether you're reflecting on your own experiences or trying to better understand the men in your life, this episode offers a compassionate look at emotional awareness, vulnerability, loneliness, support, and growth. REFLECTION QUESTIONS • What messages did I receive about emotions growing up? • What emotions felt acceptable to express, and which ones felt uncomfortable or unsafe? • When I'm upset, do I actually know what I'm feeling, or do I tend to default to words like stressed, frustrated, or annoyed? • Who do I talk to when life feels heavy? • What would change if I stopped viewing asking for support as weakness and started viewing it as a form of strength? • What emotional tools do I wish I had learned earlier in life? AFFIRMATIONS • I am allowed to ask for support. I am allowed to have needs. Strength and vulnerability can exist at the same time. • I release the belief that I must carry everything alone. I am worthy of support, connection, and understanding. • I am allowed to have needs. I am allowed to ask for support. As I become more aware of my patterns, I create new opportunities for growth, connection, and healing. My emotions do not make me weak. They make me human.
