Beschreibung

Before dropping their new single Soundslayer, emerging Sydney psych-garage two-piece As People join Uni Tunes to chat about the new track. Inspired by a misheard comment from one of their students, Soundslayer introduces a tongue-in-cheek superhero character who fights “evil noise” with pure sonic force. In this episode, Ben and Dylan chat about keeping things raw, chaotic and loud as a two-piece, the joy of short songs that hit hard, and creating "synesthesia experience" with their music. Recorded 11 July 2025. Episode edited by Asal Tabaee. Uni Tunes intro and outro music by ATARI Y.

Interview ft. TAYLA

Fusing electronic dance sounds with indie pop, Tayla’s [https://www.instagram.com/taylamusic/?hl=en] experimental approach to music offers an intimate glimpse into her world. In this episode, she opens up about how songwriting helps her process emotions – not just for herself, but for anyone listening. We chat about the liberating experience of learning Ableton music production, the power of collaboration, and how she documents her process through video. Tayla also reflects on what it’s like connecting with fans through social media, managing creative burnout, and recently finishing her soon to be released debut concept album. With a big week ahead, playing Uni Tunes Live at Buddy’s [https://whatson.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/events/uni-tunes-live-at-buddys] on March 19th and dropping a brand-new single on March 21st, Tayla shares a glimpse into what’s to come.
