God's Pursuit of Owen

Welcome to UW! We are excited to be back after a little 6 week break. Our guest today is Owen LaFave. He is on the pod today to talk about his struggles with severe depression and how God pulled him out of all of the darkness he was going through.  His story is such a beautiful example of God's love for believers and unbelievers alike. He is patient and long-suffering, His greatest desire is intimacy with us as His people. He draws us to repentance and into relationship with Him and I'm so thankful He kept after Owen time and time again.  One of the most powerful tools God used to get through to Owen was community. He kept surrounding him with exactly who he needed, to love on him and fight for him and most importantly PRAY for him!! Sometimes we don't always see what people are really struggling with. Let's love people well and be kind, always. And may God help us each to know He is there with us...loving us...even in our darkest valleys. In the Waiting

Welcome back to Unwasted Wounds! Kelly Stamps is with us today! If you have been going to Cross Church for more than four seconds you probably know who she is. Kelly shares with us her story of infertility and the beautiful way that God showed up for her and her husband...in Hawaii no less!! I love this story so much. It's a reminder of so many things. His plan is perfect, His timing is perfect, waiting is extremely difficult, but it's in the waiting that God really draws us in and strengthens our faith.  If you are going through infertility or any kind of waiting season, we pray you will cling to Heavenly Father, not be afraid to give God all of your anger and sadness, and most importantly, remember, you ALWAYS have hope because hope is just WHO. The Gift of Kate

The Power of His Love

Welcome to Unwasted Wounds Season 2 Episode 3! We have another exciting guest for you today. John Scott is sharing his story of how God rescued him from 25 years of what I'm calling, "twisted scripture". It's sort of an extension to Episode 1 and 2 with his wife, Martha Scott. I encourage you to go back and listen to her episodes before you listen to this one. They are so so good and it will give even more context. I heard a quote recently by Annie F. Downs where she said, "God saved my life just once, but he rescues me over and over." I love love LOVE this. It's been true in my own life and it's so true and evident in John's story. Time and time again, through the humility and kindness of others, God brought him back to the truth of His word and to the truth of His unending love for him. Ephesians 4:2 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." 1 John 4:16. "So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. GOD IS LOVE, and whoever abides in Love abides in God, and God abides in him." We honestly got so much out of this episode you guys and it was such a powerful reminder to love people well!!
