WESTMINSTER TALKING THE TEXT PODCAST FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2026 | MATTHEW 9:9-13, 18-26 | WITH DONOVAN DRAKE, STEPHANIE BOAZ, AND SARAH BIRD KNEFF Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26 Christ heals a woman and raises a girl  9:9As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him. 9:10And as he sat at dinner in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were sitting with Jesus and his disciples. 9:11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" 9:12But when he heard this, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 9:13Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners." 9:18While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader came in and knelt before him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." 9:19And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples. 9:20Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak, 9:21for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well." 9:22Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well." and the woman was made well from that moment. 9:23When Jesus came to the leader's house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, 9:24he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him. 9:25But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. 9:26And the report of this spread through all of that district. WESTMINSTER TALKING THE TEXT PODCAST FOR SUNDAY, MAY 24, 2026 | NUMBERS 11:24-30 | WITH ASHLEY HIGGINS, DONOVAN DRAKE, GUY D. GRIFFITH, SARAH BIRD KNEFF, AND WILL WELLMAN Numbers 11:24-30 The spirit rests on Israel's leaders  11:24So Moses went out and told the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered seventy of the elders of the people and placed them all around the tent. 11:25Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him and took some of the spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders, and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But they did not do so again. 11:26Two men remained in the camp, one named Eldad and the other named Medad, and the spirit rested on them; they were among those registered, but they had not gone out to the tent, so they prophesied in the camp. 11:27And a young man ran and told Moses, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp." 11:28And Joshua son of Nun, the assistant of Moses, one of his chosen men, said, "My lord Moses, stop them!" 11:29But Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his spirit on them!" 11:30And Moses and the elders of Israel returned to the camp. WESTMINSTER TALKING THE TEXT PODCAST FOR SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2026 | ACTS 17:22-31 | WITH DONOVAN DRAKE, SARAH BIRD KNEFF, AND STEPHANIE BOAZ Acts 17:22-31 Paul's message to the Athenians 17:22Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, "Athenians, I see how extremely spiritual you are in every way. 17:23For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, 'To an unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 17:24The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, 17:25nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. 17:26From one ancestor he made all people to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, 17:27so that they would search for God and perhaps fumble about for him and find him--though indeed he is not far from each one of us. 17:28For 'In him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we, too, are his offspring.' 17:29"Since we are God's offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals. 17:30While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 17:31because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."
