She discusses her trip to Italy and her time with the Oblates of the Holy Spirit in Lucca Italy.  Lauretta talks about how her faith was developed early on as her family were devout Catholics and prayer was part of their daily life.  As we all know, Lauretta is a strong promoter of the Holy Spirit. She asks us to find the novena, Pentecost Novena, prayer to the Holy Spirit and pray it daily. Lauretta is grateful for her gifts and reminds us to welcome our gifts and to promote our faith and the Holy Spirit and to obey God’s calling to do so.  Search the web for some of St. Elena writings to help you learn more about the Holy Spirit so that you may better know the Holy Spirit and promote it among all. Episode Episode #4891 Disorder Cover

Episode #4891 Disorder

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father greets everyone and chats briefly about the parish meeting yesterday to allow parishioners to engage with him regarding the parish focus. Father reflects on the reading from last night in Ezekiel that can be interpreted as a being harsh as it addresses chastisement, which seems that today no one wants to discuss.  However, salvation requires correction and chastisement is therefore necessary. Father leads us in prayer and afterwards addresses the disorder in society and in our lives and reminds us that as Christians we should draw attention to the disorder so that we can make the necessary corrections.  After a break, Father discusses St. Clair calling attention to her dedication and emulation of St. Francis as she was impressed by his total dedication to God.  She confirmed herself to live in the image of Jesus.  Father reflects on her idea of this mirror asking the group what do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see yourself differently each time you see yourself in the mirror?  Do you look in the mirror and think of God looking back at you?  God does see you and he’s looking at you all the time, what would it be like if we could see ourselves through God’s eyes?   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]

Episode #4890 Smorgasbord of the Brain Wrinkling Wednesdays

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk.  Today Father Koys takes tidbits of his various Wednesday episodes and creates a “smorgasbord” of sorts as he discusses various topics.  He comments on the crazy weather we’ve had and its impact to various trees around St. James Parish, then turns to speaking about the nuclear bomb, Iran and the need to keep them from having it.  Father Koys discusses that Iran is a theocracy and addresses what it is, how it impacts the current war as he addresses the various understandings of the Messiah across different religions. This brings him to share a reflection from CS Lewis that references several ills of the world that can bring about death referencing that the nuclear bomb is just another ill added to the mix and that rather than live in fear of the nuclear bomb and dying, we should live prayerfully, joyfully, sharing in the good of the world and doing good.  During the second half of the show, he reflects and unpacks the poem “The Ambulance Down in the Valley”, explaining that it is essentially a lesson on morality.  Father reads the poem and then breaks it down as he draws attention to what we should walk away with.  He ends sharing a story of a family coming in for OCIA, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, where one shares their confusion over the hierarchy in catholic religion, questioning why we need it, which leads him to discuss the Catholic Hierarchy and its role in teaching and demonstrating that getting directly to God is not an easy way, opening the door to yet another topic for another Brain Wrinkling Wednesday.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
