Episode #4879 Prayer & Praying with the Pope

It’s Monday and Lauretta welcomes back Mary Fiorito (former WOC host and co-host) back to the show today to tackle prayer and praying with the Pope.  They catch up and chat about the crazy weather in the Midwest this summer as Mary drives in the torrential rain.  We go to break hoping Mary can find a safe space to continue her participation.  After the break, Mary is safe and they lean into discussing prayer, referencing Pope Leo videos promoting prayer as well as his words to encourage SILENCE and to LISTEN for God. In particular they discuss forms of prayer and the fulfillment that it brings.  As they talk they acknowledge that there is misfortune and that despite the bad times, we can experience joy in God through prayer as Pope Leo has expressed many times in his speeches.  They touch on experiences and situations that have been blessings to themselves as well as themselves being blessings to others reminding us that we can always be a blessing to others if we just allow God to work through us.  So let us all stop and be silent as we listen for God. Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father opens with discussion about issues or topics that impact our society causing chaos yet we are not addressing or rather not properly addressing it and as such it is not being fixed and the reorder is not possible so we remain in chaos. After a break Father leads us in prayer then moves on to talk about The Trinity. Episode #4876 Tale of Two Williams

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as his mind turns to the “Tales of two Williams”.  Father Koys being the history buff that he is takes a deep dive into historical details around events with William Cecil; the powerful, longest serving politician in England and Secretary of State to King Henry VIII & Guillaume (William) de Nogaret; a french statesman, councilor and keeper of the seal to Phillip IV of France.  The tale revolves around these two men serving their respective kings as they battle the Catholic Church to protect their kings’ rights.  As Father Koys dives into and shares details and short stories about their battles and approaches, he highlights how one fought the church within the framework of Catholicism to achieve his goals while not destroying the church, while the other fought to reform the church at all cost with no care for its framework or boundaries.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
