How do we structure this mystical body of Christ? And how to people arrive at their structure? How has Rousseau influenced how we do Christianity today? In this episode, Dr. Mark Masucci and Nathan Hughes discuss the different organization structures that Churches have. Using the Bible, they show how different structures develop depending on where you go in the New Testament. The Church has always been charismatic (Holy Spirit) and institutional (having structure). From Jesus to the 12 Apostles, the Church expanded and developed. The Church had fellowship, a rich word portraying shared life together. Tax collectors and zealots called by Christ to fellowship together. Today, the Church is to be the same place. A place where we can all come together and fellowship regardless of status, class, or occupation. Drawing on Acts 2:42, they show what the early Church looked like which can be informative for us today. Because the Church isn’t just another club to be a part of, it is the mystical body of Christ in this world where we are bound together by the Spirit.
