I've grown to know these guys and love them, there are a new set of characters in this book. The reading and story line are not sourced making the story flow. I couldn't put it down, before I knew it the story was finished making me eager to see what's next. For an advanced copy there are few mistakes. I love advanced copies, you get more! Before the final editing. Thrilling, climatic and entertaining I have read the 8 books in sequence. If you are looking at this book go to the begging to see how the story starts and pans out, you won't be disappointed. I loved every page , drama, intrigue, suspense and humour thrown in at the right time. I loved every page of every book. but it feels like there is less action and more soul-searching A worthy installment in the series, certainly, but it feels like there is less action and more soul-searching. I prefer the action. The author certainly has creativity, dreaming up audacious escapades for his band of nautical mercenaries. Good to see him beating up on the Russians. I will happily continue to follow the continuing voyages... Very nice Adventure Really interesting series until the author goes rogue in book 7 and 8 when he becomes a Christian evangelist and proselytizing becomes a significant part of the book. What religion the author and his characters have, what belief system they have or don't, is both irrelevant to the story and exceedingly annoying. All it is in relation to his writing is distracting. He can do what he wants. The author juggles a complex series of sub-plots acted out by the various characters to create a âpage-turningâ read. Events, places, and dates span the past, the present, and mostly the future. Many junctures create potential for future expansion describing events, places, and characters not yet explored in the present series. The characters imitate life. The Lady Grey, Arinna Prescot, heroine of the series, is a beautiful warrior of high moral values, and of true CHARACTER. Such is rare in real life, and so refreshing, even in fictional form. Every man should be blessed with a woman such as the Lady Gray. The special men she encounters including her husband CPT Michael Prescot, Baron Vasquez, the Earl of Kesmere, and the Old Soldier CPT Vries, as well as the host of other characters, male and female, complete the range of life-like people, each playing special roles to make the Friends Tetrology a very exciting read. The author kept my undivided attention through to the end of book four. I see real potential for a mini-series along the lines of Thrones, Hunger Games, and Star Wars. Hoping for a sequel! It follows on from The Vault of Poseidon but builds on the intrigue hinted at in the first book of the series. It's a roller coaster of an action and adventure ride with an enemy that's really playing for keeps this time and it's up to Joe Hawke and his team to stop them. A highly recommended series and I can't wait to finish Tomb of Eternity. Another good book Another good book, and we are building towards the end of the Immortality trilogy. This time the fight happens on the eastern side of the world. And we have a new person joining the fray. The dragonfly. I am very intrigued to know how that character progresses, and what history does she have with Hawke. The team loses a member of the team which is sad. But it keeps things real, and everyone on their toes. Tommy t Another good step in the creation of Joe Hawke. we learn a little more about his past but and full on background overview which is OK. we also learn more about his team and some the quirks. The story holds together and keeps moving - O look forward to the next book. Good Plot, Characters are Shallow I like the "Hawke" series story lines with regard to mythology and action. The script is too overloaded with flip remarks and useless chatter that tends to cheapen the story. So, I hope that as the stories go on the characters deepen. Joe Hawke 2 What a great read. Members Reviews: Typical Engrossing story, impossible to put down Fifth in the series, and Lucas and his friends are headed out to Oregon. Because the population has been decimated, and the economy is destroyed, and a deadly virus has evolved into an even more deadly virus, travel is difficult. But, most of them survive the trip only to find themselves in another mess. How the mess is handled, and changes, and the cause was figured out, makes a very engrossing story. As I did in the previous books of the series, I ended up reading the last half of the book in a non-stop late night. One thing that is universal about Russell Blake is that he can grab your attention and keep it. Now, to wait out the publishing of the last of the books in the series!! Great continuation of the series about after the collapse of American society This is part of a series that I have really enjoyed. The actions is pretty constant but the characters are developed, likable, and realistic. The story is situated in America after a collapse of society due to political and medical problems. The concept is plausible and horrifying to contemplate. The author seems to be cautioning us to be ready for such an event. I have enjoyed following the characters through the series and look forward to the next book. I would not say that this is great literature, but it's great fiction and a good read if you enjoy action/adventure with combat situations and tense moments. You could call this a "page-turner" if it weren't on a Kindle. Top Shelf Installment Blake delivers another epic dystopian adventure in a post-apocalyptic world that is frighteningly plausible, taking the plot and characters into directions I didn't see coming. Readers looking for non-stop thrills won't be disappointed. I'm really glad the next book comes out in a few weeks because I'm dying to know how the series ends. Lucas Is The Man!! I love this genre. Life after "the Event" is going to be hard enough. But for Lucas, every day is a different challenge that must be met and defeated. Russell Blake is an amazing author with that special gift that a lot of authors only dream of having. This is not his only series, and all are equally amazing. This storyline is one of the best in the post apocalyptic world and Russell Blakes' wordsmithing is top notch and the characters are so endearing that you find yourself begging for the next book to come out soon. Insurrection, edge of the seat reading. Insurrection is fast moving and continues a great story. Hopefully the next installment comes quickly. Russel Blake has a great series going with many interesting and reasonable twists.

There is one thing that I can quote from the book, that fits the writing style of this author. "Don't ask what time it is because he will tell you how to build a clock". The story line is frequently interrupted by an in depth explanation of how everything works, from missiles, to atomic reactors. I have skipped many pages with these explanations to get back to the story that's being told. Having said this, I have read all five books. This my 4th book in the series... ... This my 4th book in the series... Oh My God. I cannot put them down. I am taking a breather and reading some other book on a different order of business. All I can think of is finishing this quickly so I can start the next book in the series. Fred Fast paced military action thriller What a great book. If anyone thought that world history Can't repeat itself, read this book. Of course it is fiction but one can never tell. I love the books from this author.
