Welcome to Episode 4 of the Beyond Chocolate and Coffee Podcast with sisters, Lorell and Brooke. Join us as we discuss the deeper topic of "What?" we teach our children. As usual, our conversation went beyond subjects, curriculum, and methods to the heart of the matter. Using Scripture, teaching skills, following interests, modeling a love of learning, and maintaining priorities will lead each of us to the right curriculum, methodology, and activities for each of our individual families.

As usual, our conversation went beyond subjects, curriculum, and methods to the heart of the matter. As we talked through the topics of learning styles and methods, we found our hearts being stirred by the idea of building relationships with our children as the top priority. As we build our relationships and study our children, the methods of education can present themselves.

Hello Friends and welcome to Why do You Homeschool? Episode 2 of the Beyond Chocolate and Coffee Podcast. Today we are discussing some of the reasons why we homeschool: our own individually, and others. Some motives that aren't profitable and the importance of understanding your own why.

Ep 1 - Who's well done?

Who's Well Done are we working for? There are many reasons we homeschool, and we will talk about whys in another PodCast because it is important to know why we are on the journey we on.  I am sure we all have excellent reasons that we started with, but it is easy to forget. It is easy to start comparing our journey to someone else's. And that is when we get in the trap of comparison.  So today we are going to talk about making sure that we remember to whom we answer to. Keeping our focus clearly on the One who designed our steps. The One who created us for His purpose. We will talk about the traps that are so easy to fall into, how to recognize those traps, and how to disengage ourselves.

Ep 0 - Welcome to Beyond Chocolate and Coffee

Who are we? Why do you want to listen to us? What are we talking about? And what's home school? We will answer these questions as we introduce ourselves and explain a little about the podcast.     So who are we? I am Lorell, married to Jon for 22 years.    Hi I am Brooke!  I am the younger sister (haha).  I have been married to Chad for almost 18 years old  Homeschooling has been an incredible journey for us. There have been lots of ups and downs, good days and bad days but through it all God is faithful.     Now that you know the who, what is this?  This is a Podcast that will encourage homeschooling Mamas through the journey.  A time to gather and share experiences together.   Methods and Curriculums:   Here is the why of the Podcast: It is our desire to share some of the big lessons we have learned in this homeschool journey. We have each struggled with feelings of discouragement, incompetency, confusion, isolation, etc. We have also experienced victory, received encouragement from others, witnessed God's amazing providence, experienced paradigm shifts, moments of clarity, and found ourselves a part of something bigger than we could have imagined. We pray that we can share some of our life lessons with you in the spirit of Titus 2    The when: every other week we will post another Podcast on Tuesdays.  We hope to also at some point add some interview type episodes on our off weeks.   We can't pretend to have it all figured out or claim to be the experts, but we can share our experiences and our testimony of God's faithfulness in our personal journeys. Rev 12:11  And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.   We are just two homeschool Mamas who love Jesus, good coffee, and dark chocolate.  We are learning because life is ALWAYS a journey. Sometimes we are just two sisters catching up over a hot cup of comfort, but most of the time we need something more, something deeper, something beyond coffee and chocolate, something that nourishes the soul and heart. We have each had opportunity to speak words of life and encouragement over the other and we have felt the power of the Holy Spirit speak through us when we felt we had nothing to offer.  We feel compelled to share some of those conversations with you.
