Brian Wilson, an experienced navigator and member of the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI), presents the IWAI Chartsig project. This initiative focuses on creating precise maps and electronic navigation aids for the Shannon and Erne waterways. Brian explains how this remapping contributes to safe navigation and the preservation of these historic waterways. He also demonstrates how and with which devices these new charts are created. The energy for these motors comes from 2 different battery systems. Barry shows us around, explains us for which purposes the boat is used and which big advantages an electric drive has.
