Episode 22: My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness

Angela and I are back with a new episode after a short break that turned into a long break. In this episode we break down the Manga My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness by Kabi Nagata. This Manga has a strong personal connection for each of us because of when we both read it for the first time about five years ago. Angela was in high school and I was in college and neither of us were where or who we wanted to be. This is the first time each of us has revisited it in a while and the weight of that first reading and how we both responded to it then hangs over this conversation. It is definitely a heavier episode and here are content warning throughout the podcast for discussions of difficult subjects. Angela and I have a lot of fun doing this together but we want to be able to do serious as well as lighthearted and I appreciate that we were able to have this conversation. Episode 21: Fantastic Mr Fox

It is finally here. All episodes thus far have been leading up to this moment. No, not really but we have been looking forward to this episode quite a bit in our Wes Anderson series. This is the Wes Anderson film we are most familiar with and will be a good measure of the re-watchability of these movies, which is something we have been talking about in these episodes. This was a great conversation. I get in my feelings a little bit, talk about existentialism, and Angela makes a number of great points that I wish I had thought of (lol). Episode 20: WandaVision Wrap-up

This episode is being posted a little bit later than expected but here are our final thoughts on the full season of WandaVision. This is the episode where Angela makes lots of really great points that I struggle to respond to cause I get really in my feelings about this show. Or I would be really in my feelings if I was a little bit clearer about what my feelings are? I’m really trying to figure them on this episode but I’m not quite sure if I get all the way there, and I think Angela had more fun with this show than me. But we’ll get into all that on the episode. Episode 19: Inside

We take a look at Inside this week and try to see what’s in this horror-puzzle-2D-platformer from 2016. Turns out there is quite a bit in there for us to get into. It wouldn’t be a video game episode if Angela and I didn’t have at least slightly disagreeing viewpoints or opinions. But that makes for a great discussion of a game that left a pretty big mark on video games and is still pretty unique, or at least memorable, in that medium. We get into the meta-conversation about the game and how that ending forces you to sit up and reconcile with the game on its terms. It’s another good one, see you next week. This week’s One-shots.
