Dalia Fahmy is an Egyptian-American political scientist and scholar who focuses on U.S. foreign policy and Middle East politics. She is an Associate Professor at Long Island University in Brooklyn, where she teaches courses on international relations, military policy, and the causes of war. Additionally, she serves as Program Director for International Relations and Diplomacy. Her academic journey began with a BA and MA from New York University, followed by a PhD from Rutgers University. She is also a Visiting Scholar at Rutgers’ Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights and serves as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Policy in Washington, D.C. Fahmy’s research explores the dynamics of democratization, Islamism, and political Islam. She has published and co-edited books such as *Egypt and the Contradictions of Liberalism* and *Illiberal Intelligentsia and the Future of Egyptian Democracy*. Her analysis on Islamophobia in U.S. foreign policy has appeared in major academic journals. She regularly briefs policymakers and presents her work at prestigious institutions including Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and the Wilson Center. Fahmy’s commentary is frequently featured in national media outlets such as ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and Al Jazeera. Dalia Fahmy’s writing and public engagement influence both scholarly debate and public understanding. Her work highlights the importance of balanced, data-driven perspectives on political developments in the Middle East and U.S.–Muslim relations.
