Bonus Episode: A Tale From the Inside

Welcome to another bonus episode of Everlasting Minute. On this episode, David welcomes one third of Chikara Pro’s reigning King of Trios, the Colony’s Resilient Rookie, Green Ant to the show. Green Ant is here to provide us with another take on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but this time from the inside (see the above image) For those of you who aren’t aware the Colony is a group of ants, who have existed for most of Chikara’s history. Along with his partners, Fire Ant and Thief Ant, Green Ant won the coveted title of King of Trios in 2018, and the Colony will look to defend that title at this year’s tournament. Green Ant and David discuss why Green Ant hold some bitterness toward Charlie Bucket, and why he believes that he’s a cheater. We also talk about his distaste for the infamous tunnel, and which of the other kids he got along with. Check out Green Ant as he wrestles at Chikara, or follow him on Twitter. Thanks for listening!

Bonus Episode: A Decidedly Different Take on Things

Welcome to another bonus episode of Everlasting Minute. On this episode, David welcomes one third of Chikara Pro’s Proteus Wheel, Frantik to the show. Frantik has some decidedly different ideas about the content of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory than Jason and David did throughout the run of the show. For those of you who aren’t aware (and we do get into it on the show) the Proteus Wheel are a group of individuals genetically modified by Professor Nicodemus. They believe themselves to be superior beings, and are rudos (the lucha libre term for bad guys) in the world of Chikara. Frantik and David discuss the demise of each of the children, and whether or not there might have been a different ending, if not for dumb luck. There is also discussion about why the chocolate river has a reddish tint. I’d like to thank Frantik for coming on the show, and suggest that everyone go check him and the rest of the Proteus Wheel out at Chikarapro.com. Especially their match with Lucas Calhoun, Missile Assault Man, and Axel Ford from the season finale “Let’s Get Invisible”. You can also follow him on Twitter…for now.

Bonus Episode: The Leader in Wonkalytics

Welcome back! It’s only been a few short days since we wrapped up our minute by minute discussion of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. However, we were recently made aware of a video by Luke Palmer and Rhino Stew that lays out a theory that the 2013 film Snowpiercer is a direct sequel to our beloved Willy Wonka. We spend some time discussing the ideas that this video puts forth, and maybe even providing more potential for explanation based on the reading that we had about certain characters in this film, over the previous one hundred episodes. Let us know what you think about the theory, and tweet at Chris Evans to see what he thinks. Thank you to Luke Palmer for putting this theory out into the world. Episode 100: Thank You

Welcome to the final regular episode of Everlasting Minute. In Minute 100, we have the Wonkavator flying, and we get credits and a final fade to black. David goes through the credits, and talks about a recent field trip that he took to see the film in the theater for the first time, and details some time meeting Paris Themmen and Julie Dawn Cole. Jason and David humbly thank everyone who has been listening as we’ve gone on this journey, and everyone who will find this show in the weeks, months and years to come. We will be back at some point with more content…maybe sooner than you can possibly imagine. Episode 99: Happily Ever After

Happy Friday, and welcome to the penultimate episode of Everlasting Minute. In minute 99, Wonka gives Charlie some very exciting, if unexpected news, and explains what the purpose of the contest was. We discuss the nature of happy endings in general, and this happy ending in particular. David and Jason decide that this may be the happiest ending in film history, and they’re hard pressed to come up with a way to describe the change in circumstance for Charlie and his family. We also discuss the original novel’s outcomes for the other four children. Thanks for listening, and we’ll see you on Monday for the final episode of Everlasting Minute.
