Although he’s a Twitter Quitter you can ping him anytime @colindowling [https://twitter.com/colindowling]. I’m here with an aspiring astronaut, part of the WhistlerPress founding team, Colin Dowling! Episode #008 Oh, snaps. It’s HUMP DAY baby. Well, it feels like every other day really. It all blends in. Killer week. I even went and supported our local brewery, The Mason Jar. If you’re ever in Menifee, go get a growler of The Blonde Next Door. You’re welcome. Here we go…. We’re gonna elevate the game today. Not because my podcasting skills have improved at any measurable rate. More so because I’m chatting it up with One of the most interesting dudes in the world. This guy has no discernible professional skills except the ability to conjure new business out of thin air. He can sell water to well. ----- I keep talking about good health and I am being a bit of a hypocrite. As much as I have done to take care of myself, mostly take care of myself over the last few years, I am not doing great right now. That’s OK. We all don’t do great all the time at all the things. What’s important is, to be honest with ourselves in understanding we have some shortcomings, and when you’re falling off the horse. I am off the horse right now and it’s time to be honest to me, just like you should be doing if you’re not taking care of yourself. Today marks my vow to clean up my act. It’s time to get back to the Dre of the last couple of years and stop making excuses. I’ve said it, not I commit. All it takes is you. Until next time, Get a Grip!

Blogger, Speaker, Teacher, Mentor, Technologist, and business leader. Find him at @ChrisLema [https://twitter.com/ChrisLema] on Twitter. Episode #007 Chris Lema [https://chrislema.com/] has been working with WordPress since 2005. Over the years he's been a blogger, a speaker at WordCamps, a coach for WordPress product companies, and the founder of the conference for WordPress business owners, called CaboPress [https://cabopress.com/]. Today he's the VP of Products at Liquid Web, where he manages the world's first managed platform for WooCommerce stores. I’m not wasting any time today. I’m here with my friend, Chris Lema. Que pasa, Hermano? ------ Life is short. Not shorter than my buddy Brian Putman in a booster chair during a Fantasy Football draft at Buffalo Wild Wings. But it’s short. In a world where masks are now acceptable when going to the bank, and hand sanitizer is being used by the gallon, It’s safe to say our way of living that short life has changed in many ways. What hasn’t changed is the fact that we often de-prioritize our health and how we treat our bodies. What, you think an airborne virus is going to change that? Is that going to influence the way you eat, the way you sleep, the amount of exercise you get every week? I doubt it. That takes self-respect and valuing your self-worth. It takes commitment and discipline. You can continue to bitch and moan about all these social changes we’re all dealing with all you want, but if you don’t commit to changing yourself, it’s likely you’re limiting your overall time to keep complaining. Life is short. Life can be really good. Life is better with you in it. Value yourself and extend the span of time you have here! It goes fast. Until next time, Get a grip!

Today’s guest is one of those guys. One of my training partners, and much more. Bryce is also a guy helping fighters reach their full capability in MMA, not just Jiu-Jitsu. He’s also a lawman, and most importantly a family man. You can find him at @brycersm [https://twitter.com/brcersm] on Twitter, Instagram, and most anywhere else. Please welcome Bryce Armendariz. Episode #006 So I have been at this for a few weeks now and super excited about all the great discussions. I’m Still trying to figure out my audio set up and having good luck so far short of an echo cancellation gremlin that loves to drown out my voice. Now, I know everyone listens in for the guests, but damn, man, I like talk talking on my Podcast too! I’ll get it figured out, and if any of my 3 listeners have an idea on how to fix that, let me know. In contrast to this young podcast, which has already had some great moments, today is my anniversary of starting Jiu-Jitsu. 7-years ago today, I took my first class. I have been at it a while and it’s depressing that I have been off the mat since this whole COVID thing started. Jiu-Jitsu is more than just an individual journey. It’s not singular. It’s not going at it alone. There are many angles to it, and it truly is life-changing. A big draw for me is all the amazing damn people you get to try and kill every day. And when you get close, you agree to stop with a tap, and you try it again. Soon enough I’ll kick off the next 7 years of Jiu-Jitsu journey. Hopefully, just hopefully, it’s not amidst another pandemic. Ultimately, our chosen journey rests on many things. Our ability to commit to something bigger than ourselves. Discipline to follow through with our commitments. Even the way we respect ourselves, others, and the process. I find it pretty interesting, and quite frankly, a bit amusing that I just enjoyed a great chat with a dude I respect immensely, on the anniversary of my Jiu-Jitsu journey, and on the very day, Aretha Franklin dropped the song Respect in 1967. Say wuhhhhh?!?! Until next time, Get a grip!

I’m ready to go. Who’s ready to go? Let's send it. Let's talk offroad. Let's talk crazy. Let's speak to the future. I’m here with Ben English. Head of Ultra4 Racing Australia. Episode #005 -- Ultra4 the force behind the toughest one-day off-road race on the planet: King of The Hammers. King of The Hammers takes place each year in February, on public lands in Johnson Valley, CA. The race has evolved from 12 teams racing for bragging rights and a case of beer, to more than 300 teams competing before more than 35,000 fans in person and nearly 500,000 watching online. Due to the incredible success of King of the Hammers, Hammerking has created an ULTRA4 Racing Series with seven races held throughout the country. In the good and the bad, it has always amazed me how two people from very different worlds, or at least halfway across this one, can connect on common ground and build a friendship. 2-3 years ago in the middle of nowhere out in the desert, I happened to meet some new friends from Australia. Great laughs and certain points of focus drew us together, that was our common love for off-road racing. The desert and the rocks brought us to a point in time where we could forge a long term bond and hope of meeting once again. Here we are, brought together again, on completely different terms, and still across the world, at a time where people from places so different, are so much the same. Appreciate the time you have with those close, and also those that are far away. This is the perfect time to meet in the middle of nowhere and enjoy your time once again. Until next time, Get a grip.
