This weeks guest has a truly incredible story, and is living proof that you can’t judge a book the cover. You may know her as a gorgeous supermodel, but I promise you she’s so much more than that. She’s a mom, a professional model, and one of the finalists of the 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit SwimSearch. However, what many don’t know is her difficult past that lead her to where she is now. In this episode, we talk about emancipating her parents at 15 to take full custody of her little brother. We chat about toxic relationships, becoming pregnant at 19, marriage, divorce, co parenting, body image, self worth and living with gratitude. Her perseverance and positive perspective on life is beyond inspiring. Her story is her strength, and she is so much More Than her Past. I’m honored to introduce you to the incredible, Taylor Sharpe. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we’re kicking it off with an incredible woman who is a mental health advocate using her voice to destigmatize the conversation and help others feel less alone. Gilly Chan [https://www.instagram.com/gilly.inc/?hl=en] is a well known model who’s worked with brands like Cover Girl, Adidas, Mango & was the November 2019 Playboy Playmate. However, modeling is only a small fraction of who she is. With a degree in psychology and a passion for mental health, she’s used her platform to be an advocate while providing resources and tools for anyone else who’s struggling. She launched her own digital mental health space called The Remedy Platform [https://www.instagram.com/theremedyplatform/] to specifically provide mental health resources and support to Black Indigenous People of Color as well as the LGBTQ+ community. In this episode we chat about her modeling experience, mental health journey, embracing your natural beauty, self acceptance, police brutality, climate change and so much more. She’s multifaceted and extremely inspiring. Enjoy this episode, More Than Mental Health. For more information on Mental Health Awareness Month along with resources please visit this website.
