#412: A Very Unlikely Team - Mark part 11
đ Series: The Gospel of Mark Mark 3:7â19 đ§ Episode Summary: Why would Jesus choose these men? In todayâs episode, we step into a moment where crowds are pressing in from every sideâpeople eager to see Jesus, hear Him, and be healed. But then, something quieterâand just as importantâhappens. Jesus goes up on a mountainside⊠and begins calling people to Himself. One by one, He chooses twelve menâvery different from each otherâto be His apostles. But this wasnât random. In this episode, kids will learn: * Why Jesus chose twelve apostles * What the word âapostleâ means * How this connects to the 12 tribes of Israel * Why Jesus chose such a variety of people * And what this teaches us about the family of God This story helps children see that the good news of Jesus isnât just for one kind of personâitâs for everyone. đ§ Key Teaching Moment: Jesus didnât choose the same kind of people. He chose a very unlikely teamâmen with different jobs, personalities, and backgrounds. Why? Because the Gospel is for all people. đ Even though we are all different, Christians are brought together by one thing: We believe in Jesus. We love Him. #411: A Hand Made Whole- Mark part 10
Mark 3:1â6 In todayâs story, Jesus enters a synagogue on the Sabbath and meets a man with a shriveled hand. While others watch closelyâwaiting to see if Jesus will break their rulesâJesus does something unexpected. He heals. But instead of celebrating, the religious leaders become angry. Why? Because they cared more about their rules⊠than people. In this episode, we explore what the Sabbath was meant to be, what the Pharisees misunderstood, and what it means to truly love God and others. đ Key Truth Godâs laws are rooted in loveâand they teach us how to love Him and others well. Try asking your kids these questions this week: đ âWhy does this rule exist?â đ âDoes following it help us love others?â đ âHave you ever heard someone use one of Godâs laws in the wrong wayâmaybe adding to it or twisting it?â Want to join the impact? Scripture: Mark 2:18â28 In todayâs episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark and hear Jesus answer some questions. Why werenât His disciples fasting? Why did the Pharisees get upset when they picked grain on the Sabbath? And what was Jesus showing everyone about Godâs law, grace, and what it really means to belong to Him? Kids will learn that Jesus did not come to patch up an old system. He came to bring something new. In this episode, kids will hear: * What fasting means * Why Jesus compared Himself to a bridegroom * What new wine and old wineskins mean * Why the Pharisees were upset about the Sabbath Key truth: Because we are accepted in Jesus, we obey out of loveânot out of fear.
