Our host is Dr. Chivonna Childs; she has over 25 years of experience in counseling. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University. She received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Cleveland State University. She has worked in multiple settings, including community mental health centers, nursing homes, private practices, and hospital systems. She has given various presentations on mental health and focuses on the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, African American Women, and Postpartum depression and anxiety. She has been featured in the Healthy Actions Column on Depression in the Akron Beacon Journal. Currently, Dr. Childs works as a Staff Psychologist at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She provides psychotherapy/tele mental health to individuals, families, and couples to effectively manage mood and behavior.
