She’s an eight-time NYC Golden Gove champion, so it’s fitting that she opens the festive weekend. In addition to her eight NYC titles, she’s a three-time national Golden Gloves champion and represented Puerto Rico in the Central American games. A modern-day renaissance woman, Rodriguez is a former schoolteacher, a mentor for troubled kids, raises a family, and currently serves as an NYPD officer for the Chief of Department working in assaults and homicides in at-risk youth.
