Playbook Radio #169: Your Calling is Calling You
Playbook Radio #168: Your Calling is Calling You Feeling stuck at a job that doesn't fulfill you? Martin Williams speaks from the heart about why pursuing your calling isn't optional—it's essential. Without notes or script, Martin addresses the three biggest excuses that keep people from stepping into their purpose: being too young, too old, or not having enough money. Your Calling Serves Others * Your calling isn't just about you—it's about the people who need what you have to offer * The wisdom and experiences you're keeping bottled up could help others avoid pain or find breakthrough * For every negative comment, there are 10 people quietly listening and benefiting from your message The Top 3 Excuses (And Why They're Wrong): 1. "I'm Too Young/Inexperienced" * Story: A young man in his early 20s convinced corporations to fund cleaning the Mississippi River * When you take yourself seriously, others will too * 12-year-olds have million-dollar businesses—age is not the barrier 2. "I'm Too Old" * David Price quit his corporate job in his late 30s to become a meteorologist, worked his way up from small markets to CBS New York's national morning show * Colonel Sanders started in his 60s, Grey Goose founder in his 70s * 40s, 50s, 60s—it's not too late if you start NOW 3. "How Will I Make Money?" * Biblical principle: Focus on today only—do you have enough for the next 24 hours? * When you worry about next week, next month, you weaken your power * Serve people at a high level, and the money becomes a foregone conclusion The 1,000 True Fans Principle: * You don't need millions of followers * Find your 1,000 people who resonate with your mission * They will underwrite your calling—buy courses, attend events, support your work * Your job: show up and serve The Truth About Fear: * Fear of rejection and failure keeps people from sharing their message * Don't let one nasty comment stop you from reaching the 10 people who need to hear from you * Your audience is the people who WANT to hear from you—not the critics Your calling is not optional. You have limited time on earth. Someone needs what you have to offer. Stop planning and worrying—start planning and executing. Focus on today, serve people well, and trust that you'll have what you need when you need it. The question isn't "Can I do this?" The question is: "What am I waiting for?" Playbook Radio #168: Build Your Dream in Your Mind
Here's a podcast description for this episode: Building Your Success in the Mind First Most people try to build their dreams with hard work alone, starting from the ground up. But what if you're approaching it backwards? In this episode, Martin explores why mindset accounts for at least 80% of success and introduces a powerful mental technique used by legendary athletes and inventors: starting at the end. Discover how Jim Thorpe won Olympic gold by visualizing in a hammock, how Nikola Tesla perfected inventions in his mind before ever entering the laboratory, and why "acting like you've been there before" is more than just a saying—it's a blueprint for achievement. Whether you're an athlete hitting a performance wall, an entrepreneur building a business, or someone working to become better in your personal life, this episode reveals how to work on a higher plane by building your desired reality mentally first, then reverse engineering the steps to get there. Learn why mental labor creates higher rewards than manual labor alone, and how visualization and living in the end result can manifest real-world outcomes—from scoring touchdowns to moving into that dream apartment. It's time to start working with your mind, not just your hands. playbookstrat.substack.com
Playbook Radio #167 - You Can't Afford to Feel Sorry for Yourself
I reveal why mental discipline separates winners from everyone else. Your mind is like a horse—if you’re not directing it, it takes you wherever it wants, usually into victim mentality. When you catch yourself in a pity party, snap out of it fast and return to your game plan. Bad things happen to everyone, but controlling your thoughts determines your direction. Your mind takes you up or down—you choose.
Playbook Radio #166 - Weekly Performance Review
Most people stumble into Monday unprepared. I'm going to show you how to change that with a simple Weekend Review practice that will put you ahead of 80-90% of professionals. In this episode, I share my personal Saturday morning routine for reviewing the previous week and mentally preparing for the one ahead. Just like coaches review game film to spot mistakes, I teach you how to look at your week in a non-judgmental way that creates real awareness and course correction. The 5-Step Weekend Review Process: Step 1: Get Quiet Find 15-20 minutes early in the morning before anyone else is up. No distractions. Just you and your thoughts. Step 2: Mental Revision Using a technique I learned from Neville Goddard, I show you how to mentally revise anything from the previous week that didn't go as planned. Didn't get the client? Revise the scene as if you did. Here's the secret: your subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between real and imagined facts. Stop replaying failures and start replaying successes. Step 3: Visualize Your Breakthrough Goals I recommend 1-3 breakthrough goals per area of life. But here's where most people get it wrong—they visualize in their head but not with their whole body. I'll teach you how to feel it with everything in you, see people congratulating you, and make it real in your mind before it manifests in reality. Step 4: Mental Rehearsal for the Upcoming Week Record everything coming up—meetings, tough clients, sales calls—then rehearse each interaction going well. By the time Monday arrives, you'll have already lived it successfully in your mind. Step 5: Daily Mental Check-Ins I give you four critical questions to ask yourself daily to interrupt autopilot thinking and keep your energy, morale, and nutrition on track. This practice takes less than 30 minutes on weekends and 5 minutes daily, but it will transform how you show up in your life. Available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. Join the conversation on my Substack and share your experience with the Weekend Review practice.
Playbook Radio #165 Dominant Mental Programming
Your dominant mental programming is controlling every aspect of your life—your relationships, your finances, your health, and your success. In this powerful episode, I break down why you can't outperform a negative mindset and how your thoughts directly determine what you can manifest in life. Using a compelling department store analogy, I explain why "the higher the thought, the bigger the manifestation." Just like you need to go to the top floor to find the big-ticket items, you need to elevate your thoughts to access bigger results in life. Key Takeaways: * Your current results are a direct reflection of your dominant mental programming * You're carrying subconscious "garbage" that's blocking your growth—and it needs to go * 90% of media and social content is a harmful distraction from your core purpose * Mental maintenance is like taking out the trash—it must be done consistently * You can't manifest what you want if your thoughts haven't taken you to that level I emphasize that releasing negative beliefs, memories, and programming isn't a one-time event—it's continuous work. Whether through therapy, coaching, or daily mental reprogramming, you must commit to cleaning out your mental house to create the life you truly want.
