It's time once again for GastroFest 2018! This is the 4th annual GastroFest happening in a new location this year. Ep. #5 - The State of Jacksonville Real Estate 2018

My thoughts on real estate in Jacksonville in 2018. There are so many things to celebrate in the real estate market, both nationally and on a local level. We've had a period of boom for the last eight or so years, maybe even longer, and the current inventory cannot sustain the number of buyers that we currently have. So what's the problem? For those of us who have been around long enough to see a couple cycles in their lifetime, we know that real estate has a cyclical cycle that lasts on average 8 to 10 years. Our traditional boom and bust cycles. Mind you, the one in 2008 was catastrophic and unlike anything that we've seen in our lifetime. That one knocked the legs out from under us. Ep. #4 - The Catty Shack Ranch

Today, I'm speaking with two special ladies who are absolutely dedicated to the work they do. The first half of our interview is with Jordan Joseph, who is a volunteer coordinator with The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary, the #1 rated thing to do in Northeast Florida according to TripAdvisor magazine. The Catty Shackis a big cat wildlife sanctuary that helps aging animals get the care they need all the way to the end of their life. Since these animals live 2-3 times as long as they do in the wild, their cost of care can get pretty expensive, so they offer public tours to offset that expense.  Come out to the ranch during their nighttime feedings that are open to the public and learn more about the 50 or so big cats, as well as the foxes and coatimundis roaming around the sanctuary. today, I'm excited because we are going to have 2 separate interviews. Both of the ladies I talk to today have events going on this weekend, so I wanted to get this episode out to you as soon as possible. My first guest is Emily Dockery from the town of Orange Park. she coordinates all the events that the town hosts throughout the year and today she's here to talk to us about the Orange Park Farmers Market that's been going on for the last couple years, but I wanted to have her on because the weather is about to turn beautiful and folks are ready to get out and about. We'll have her on to discuss everything you need to know about the #1 ranked  Farmers Market in all of Northeast Florida.
