#4 TSG Bergedorf

This episode of the podcast ‘The Common Ground’ was recorded by TSG Bergedorf, one of Hamburg's largest sports clubs with around 10,500 members. The hosts of this episode are Janne Ludwig, head of the sports and youth department at TSG, and her guest Tobias, deputy chairman and board member responsible for daycare centres and school partnerships. The episode focuses on how and why sports clubs such as TSG Bergedorf enter into partnerships with schools. The main topics are how these school partnerships work, what they mean for children, families, schools and the club, and what challenges and opportunities they bring. Tobias provides insights into the organisation, the educational and sporting work and the advantages for the club's departments – in particular the opportunity to create full-time coaching positions through partnerships. #3 Sportunion Tirol

In this episode, we take an in-depth look at sustainability in sports clubs, with a particular focus on the Tyrol region. Christian and Paul discuss how sports clubs in Austria and across Europe can become more sustainable. The focus is on practical examples: How can sustainability be put into practice locally? What happens to worn-out tennis balls, for example? And what role do initiatives such as ‘Klimafitte Sportstätte’ (climate-friendly sports facilities) or projects to promote low-threshold access to sport play? We learn how sport has a broad impact, not only in terms of competition, but above all in terms of focusing on health and well-being for all. It's about partnerships with schools, free offers, qualified youth coaches and the shift towards greater social inclusion and sustainable club growth. Of course, we also discuss the challenges: bureaucratic hurdles, recruiting young talent and the importance of cooperation between clubs. In this episode we dive into the role of youth work and sports in shaping young people’s lives across Europe. Host Atithyan is joined by Ounor, Alaa, and Yusra – all experienced youth workers and students – to explore why education matters, what challenges young people face when dropping out of school, and how preventive work can help reduce youth crime. In dieser Einführungsfolge von „QuoVadis – The Common Ground“ begrüßen die Hosts Sara und Sebastian ihre Hörer:innen aus dem Aufnahmestudio in Schweinfurt. Die beiden geben erste Einblicke in das Podcast-Projekt, das von sechs Sportorganisationen aus Österreich, Deutschland, Ungarn und Norwegen gemeinsam gestaltet wird. Im Vordergrund steht der europaweite Austausch und die Zusammenarbeit zu den Themen soziale Inklusion, Jugendarbeit und Ehrenamt im Sport. Die Episoden werden jeweils in der Muttersprache der Beitragenden veröffentlicht. Für internationale Hörer:innen werden je nach Plattform Übersetzungen und Untertitel bereitgestellt. Kurz stellen sich die Kooperationspartner für manche noch folgende Episoden vor: Rune aus Norwegen, der über Präventionsarbeit im Sport sprechen wird, oder Vanda aus Ungarn, die den Mehrwert der Erasmus-Kooperation lobt und das Thema Sponsoring ankündigt.
