Sam and Molly discussed their experiences with sports and cultural differences. They reflected on the importance of sports in their lives and the impact it has had on their personal growth. Molly shared her vision for The Den, a gym that provides coaching and support for young girls interested in sports, and Sam offered to introduce her to the head of Arsenal Snc. Molly shared how she started her own gym and transitioned into coaching, while Sam reflected on his experience qualifying as a PT and the lack of good coaching in the private sector. Max Honigsbaum has a background in swimming, rugby, and American football, and has found a passion for training rather than competing. He has experience working with elite athletes and has found that creating an environment that encourages people to enjoy the process of training is beneficial. He has also found that working with the general population at Google has reinforced the basics and has allowed him to build rapport with people and tailor their training. Max Honigsbaum discussed how the Exos system is based on sound sports science principles and is well branded. He also discussed how conversations with other coaches have reinforced the importance of going back to basics and looking at the benefits of different training methods for different individuals. He also discussed how the Google environment is more nurturing and how he tries to make the gym accessible for people who have been intimidated by it. Max Honigsbaum discussed the differences between coaching at a university and a boat club, emphasizing the importance of trunk strength and mobility for rowers to stay healthy and increase their stroke power. He also discussed the benefits of using heavy s-spot with seven stroke pe power as a test to measure performance and strength.
