10 episoderAfter almost a year since the Think Scope podcast was first created, co-hosts and creators Megan Mehta and Alexis Bondarenko are ready to take their next big step in life as they move on into adulthood and college. In this final episode, the two discuss how the podcast came about, how it has transformed them, and reflect back on some of their favorite episodes and memories. They look over their own personal growth during this journey and are excited to share where they are headed next in life.
Climate change is by far the single largest threat to the modern world. Although young people didn't start the fire (both literally and figuratively), we are expected to "solve" climate change. In this episode of Think Scope, Megan and Alexis explain why climate change is a massive problem, as well as why young people are most politically active to force politicians to address it.
Co-hosts Megan Mehta and Alexis Bondarenko discuss their personal beliefs of what happens after we die. This episode is an extension of episode 6, "Are You Ready to Die." In the last episode, Megan and Alexis explain how they know they have lived a fulfilling life and are prepared to die. But what happens after we die? Where do we go? In this episode, they canvass the role religion and culture play in shaping our beliefs regarding what happens after we die. They also explore how teens view religion and spirituality compared to older generations.
Death is inevitable. Every single living thing dies. Non-living things have cycles of "birth" and "death", likes rocks wearing down into sand and magma "creating" new rocks. Even stars die and collapse. Just as much birth is a fundamental component of the universe, so is death. Neither have existed without one another, and life is meaningless without an inevitable end. In this episode of Think Scope, Megan and Alexis discuss how they know they are prepared to die, meaning, how they determine if they have lived the most fulfilling life. They also discuss why living a fulfilling life is subjective and dependent on our fears, definition of success, and motivation behind the success (thus briefly revisiting topics covered in episodes 2, 3, and 4).
Recently there has been increasing encouragement for women in S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). With Megan Mehta and Alexis Bondarenko both majoring in S.T.E.M fields, they have witnessed the progression along with struggles that women face. In today’s episode, dive in with them as they share their experiences with these obstacles and look at changes being made.
