The interlinks of Design Thinking and Coaching - (Part 2)

This episode covers the second part of the pre-recorded webinar on the interlinks of design thinking and coaching. In this episode we shall take a deeper dive into each of the five phases of design thinking and unpack what transpires with the client as we apply each of these Phases in coaching: Phase one “Empathy” exploring with no judgment Phase  Two “Define”, supporting the client to gain a clearer self-awareness as to what they truly need. Phase three “ Ideation” supports the client to become more creative and realize the unseen potential. Phase Four is “Prototyping” it is where coaches support clients to crystalize the options and have better visibility of what is available for them. Last but not least comes Phase 5 “ Testing” in this phase, the coach supports the client to assess how feasible and viable the selected option is and how truly committed the client is to follow through with their commitment. We shall explore how each phase feeds into the other. “Empathy” is the platform for building an authentic relationship with the client and prepares the grounds for the second phase “Define”. We explored how defining what the client really needs supports the client to be focused and ready to explore from heightened awareness and open the door for phases 3 & 4 “Ideation & prototyping”. "Ideation" is creating ideas and options to maximize the potential for the client; "prototyping" being crystallizing those options and bringing them to life for the client to see what is best serving them; This will all funnel to step 5 supporting the clients to "test" their choices based on how would this choice allow them to honor what they truly value, how will they show up differently and most importantly how much committed are they to follow through with it.

In this episode, we shall identify the 5 phases of design thinking and draw the links of each phase with coaching, showing how the coach can be of better service for the clients by coaching based on empathy and following a non-linear approach. It explores some aspects which differentiate the Transcendence Leader Coach such as self-leadership through heightened emotional intelligence, building a learning organization through curiosity, and manifesting courage through Vulnerability. This episode unpacks How Authenticity is amplified by presence, The Connection between presence & listening, the impact of aligning values on engagement., and the power of vulnerability in drawing connections with the team around you. Embracing a Transcendence Leader Coach Mindset

In this episode, I am sharing a part of a prerecorded webinar during which we have introduced the challenges leaders are facing and why leaders need a new approach in facing them. The content is split into two episodes as I felt both would be a good way to introduce the Transcendence Leader Coach Concept. In this episode, we introduce the mindset leaders have to embrace to face the VUCA world. Embracing the coach’s mindset and leading with a servitude mentality, setting the needs of their teams as important as their own. We cover why leaders need to embrace empathy, openness, and inclusion based on multipolicy of perspectives.
