Christ-like Fatherhood with Mark Ward of Ward on Words | Ep 40

For episode number 40, Laurence is joined by Mark Ward from the YouTube channel Ward on Words. Mark is a Bible teacher, YouTube, designer, husband and father of three children.  In our episode we discuss many aspects of Christian parenting such as Christian schooling, teaching the Bible to our children as well as the stresses of raising children in this current environment and culture.  Unfortunately a small amount of original footage was lost from the interview so you will see or hear a few interruptions to fill in the blanks.  A huge thank you to Mark for taking the time to come on Dad Dialogue. International Family, Ten Year Wait, Power of Prayer with Melvin George | Ep 39

On the Dad Dialogue podcast this week we are honoured by an amazing story of waiting for a family, sitting down with Laurence and sharing his story is Melvin. Originally from India, Melvin and his wife live in the Netherlands and had to wait a very long 10 years to be able to grow their family with a child.  During that journey unfortunately Melvin and his wife did suffer two miscarriages, something we go into detail in the episode. You can hear that at the heart of Melvin’s journey has been his faith, we also dive into the power of prayer, trying to unpack and contextualise what it is and what it looks like, so even if you are not someone of faith, I hope you stick around to listen to our discussion about it. Leading a Family During Redundancy, Taking a Baby Camping with Mário Sousa | Ep 37

For the 37th episode of the Dad Dialogue podcast, Laurence is rejoined by previous guest, Mario! Mario previously featured on the 7th episode of Dad Dialogue when he was a brand new father. A little over a year on, what has Mario learnt from his fatherhood journey? What challenges has he had to face? Well, to answer that second question, unfortunately Mario lost his job not long after that first episode was released. In this episode we discuss the stresses that brought and the process he went through of prioritising his family whilst looking for something new. In addition to this, we discuss what it has been like to raise a child in a different country, as Mario is from Portugal but living in The Netherlands, as well as some of the difficulties that come with balancing family life in that situation. Mario and his wife are avid campers so we also hear from him about the recent camping excursions he has taken his son on, if you’re thinking about doing the same with a young child, stay tuned to hear Mario’s first hand experience of what that looked like!
