Stop Watering Dead Relationships

Morning Mantra: "Stop watering dead relationships and expecting them to grow." Letting go of someone who doesn’t respect you is one of the bravest things you can do.  So please don’t stay in a bad relationship out of fear or insecurity. I never thought about how hard it was to leave a toxic relationship until I had one. After being in one, I realized how a person could be your world and at the same time be the reason why you believed you couldn’t be loved and treated the way you deserve to be. That’s why people stay with them for years, even while being unhappy and an unfulfilled. But leaving taught me something I never imagined – it showed me my own strength. It reminded me that love should never come with the cost of my self-worth.  Walking away wasn’t easy, but it was the first step towards finding myself again. To Be List

Morning Mantra: "Don't focus so much on the To Do list, that you forget about the To Be list."  It's okay to want to be productive, but in our increasingly demanding world, sometimes getting things done comes at the expense of your happiness, your peace, your relationships and your health. Especially in the US, over working can be seen as some sort of positive attribute. Some even wear their exhaustion like a badge of honor. The Goal is Experience

Morning Mantra: "Everything is a win when the goal is experience." When I taught riding lessons and took my students to horse shows I used to tell them that they will either win or learn.  So basically there is no losing.  Life is one long lesson.  We learn with everything we do. We spend every day making choices. Sometimes it's a simple choice- not really going to impact the rest of your life- like what to order in a new restaurant.  Other times the choices are huge- like whether to take a certain job or to get married. In every choice we learn.  We gain experience. In our examples above- if we order the wrong thing we learn what not to order next time, if it's something really great we win.  Either way we win. If we take a job and the company atmosphere is toxic- we learn.  If it's the best job ever- we win. Again- both wins. Speak Up

Morning Mantra: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." On his birthday I like to use a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.   This quote reminds us that not speaking up, speaks volumes. Silence becomes cowardice when occasions demand speaking out the whole truth and acting accordingly. We are at a pivotal point in our country, some see it clearly as a way to recognize that everyone on earth is connected. Because it’s not possible to be in favor of justice for some people and not being in favor of justice for all people. There are no borders, states, cities, races, cultures, or genders when you look at the Earth from space.  There’s no us versus them. It’s just one big beautiful blue dot trying to support the billions of humans that depend on it. It’s man that creates the chaos. It’s humans that separate, segregate, and divide us. That create an "Us vs Them".  But it’s up to us whether we allow it or not.  I am willing to take a stand. I am willing to say how I feel. My truth is that no matter where you are now, where you come from, or who you love, you are welcome here.  I believe the only way forward is together.
