Gold bar scams are an increasingly widespread form of fraud, costing victims millions. In these schemes, scammers—often pretending to be government officials or tech support—claim that a person’s bank account is at risk. Don’t respond to random text messages

If you receive a text message from an unknown number, we recommend that you don’t respond. There is no reason to be polite.
