Rescued from hard-heartedness and half-heartedness | Daniel Leeves and Simon Lang

What happens when we become desensitized to the 'message of the Kingdom', or when our focus get quietly divided by everything else competing for our attention? In this week’s teaching, we have two mini-talks looking at the parable of the sower. First, Dan explores the hard ground of the path, shifting the focus away from a one-time salvation moment to our daily heart posture toward the message of the Kingdom. Drawing a parallel to the Exodus, he challenges the reality that we can easily be rescued from our past captivity, yet still miss out on being saved into the daily life God has for us. Then, Simon unpacks the thorny ground, focusing on what it means to be half-hearted. He shows that this isn't necessarily about laziness or apathy, but about a divided focus - looking at how the worries and distractions of life can slowly crowd out and choke our faith and spiritual growth. Rescued from Condemnation | Simon Lang

What happens when our hidden brokenness is brought out into the open before a holy God? In this week's message, Simon Lang draws from John 8:2-11 to uncover the depth of Jesus’ response to the woman caught in adultery. Simon unpacks the text to show how Jesus simultaneously dismantles religious hypocrisy and lifts the crushing weight of condemnation from our shoulders. Rather than leaving us where we are, this passage reveals a beautiful tension: Jesus extends absolute grace, while explicitly calling us into a new life of active transformation. We look at what it practically means to cooperate with His grace, daily laying down our sin - not through striving, but in response to the one who saved us. Rescued from the forces of evil | Daniel Leeves

Why is our modern culture so deeply fascinated by the supernatural, yet so quick to dismiss the actual reality of spiritual darkness? In this week's message, Daniel Leeves takes us into Mark 5:1–20 to confront the unseen battles happening right beneath the surface of our everyday lives. By looking at what happened then, what it looks like now, and how we are called to respond, we explore how to navigate a world that is spiritually blind yet strangely hungry. Ultimately, we discover that facing the reality of spiritual warfare isn't about fear, but about leaning into the absolute authority of Jesus and moving toward broken people with radical compassion. Rescued from Self-sufficiency | Daniel Leeves

What if the very thing we rely on most is the thing keeping us from seeing what God is doing? In this message, Daniel Leeves looks at Jesus’ late-night conversation with Nicodemus in John 3, exploring how self-sufficiency, certainty, and reliance on our own understanding can quietly keep us closed off to the life of the Spirit. Drawing on Proverbs and Jesus’ words about being born again, Dan reflects on the invitation to surrender control and become attentive to the pneuma / ruach of God, the Spirit who moves like wind and breath, often in ways we cannot predict or contain. A thoughtful and challenging message about learning to trust God beyond our own understanding. ------ Thanks for tuning in. Rescued from Thirst | Simon Lang

We begin a new series, Rescued: Stories of Grace, exploring some of the personal encounters Jesus had with people, and what they reveal about Him as our rescuer. Along the way, we’ll keep returning to the words of Ephesians 2 and the grace that brings us from death to life. In this first message, Simon Lang looks at Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well in John 4. Was she carrying shame? Despair? A deeper spiritual thirst? Simon explores all three, showing how Jesus meets her with truth, compassion, and the offer of living water. A thoughtful and hope-filled message about the ways God still meets and rescues people today. Thanks for tuning in.
