Welcome to series 2! Boom - Kate Charlton [https://www.yop-achieve.com/] & Paul Jones [https://www.f4lcoaching.com/] start this year of the PK Triathlon Podcast with an absolute legend! None other than 6x IRONMAN World Champion - Dave Scott [https://davescottinc.com/]. He first won the IRONMAN title in 1980. Over the next 16 years he won five more Ironman World Championship titles, became the first athlete to go under 3:00 hours for the Ironman marathon, then the first to go under 2:55 and the first to go under 2:50. He was also the first person to go under 10 hours, 9 hours and 8:30 in Kona. The 1989 race is known simply as IRONWAR, “The Man” went 8:10:13 that day and broke his course record by over 18 minutes. At the age of 40 he went on to finished 2nd, after a 5 year break and then finished 5th in 1996 aged 42. He has been in the sport more than 40 years… still looks fit and like he could kick ass too… [Paul] I'll be honest, I am a little nervous as this is one of my coaching & sporting inspirations... This episode is full of passion, emotion, entertainment, knowledge. Dave is incredibly open in this interview... which is fabulous to listen to. All this made even more incredible, when you consider, he crashed his bike a couple of weeks ago and broke his leg in four places... Kate & Paul are incredibly grateful to Dave for giving up his time and talking freely and so passionately. Dave has a newsletter, which is informative and inspirational... if you want to sign up for that go to: Dave Scott Inc. [https://davescottinc.com/] Seriously, you don't want to miss this one! Sit back and listen.
