The Outer Banks drop to a MODERATE RIP CURRENT RISK with two to four foot surf. Virginia Beach also eases to MODERATE risk with similar surf heights. Maryland and the barrier islands maintain MODERATE risk but see slightly smaller surf of two to three feet. Winds shift to the southeast and east at five to ten miles per hour, making for a much calmer day. Highs climb into the seventies and low eighties. The extended forecast shows improving conditions mid-week through Friday.
