How do you remove a war hero from power?
Known as the Lady Grey, her leadership won the apocalyptic war that ravaged Europe. But now in 2068 and three years into the official peace, the alliance she's maintained with the seven ministers who rule Europe falters under the lack of an external threat. They want back the power she claimed in a bid to protect the continent, an authority they never authorized. With no war, she is no longer needed, even if she safeguards the borders from a threat that is hiding more than is dead.
But how do you plot the downfall of a popular wartime heroine, a woman who controls the armed forces? One dent at a time....

Overview â FRIENDS OF MY ENEMY Tetrology
(Review of Book 2, AFTER THE WAR, follows the Tetrology overview)
I'm a semi-retired RE Broker in Idaho specializing in retreats and off-grid properties and as such, a big-time PREPPER, always on the alert for literature of my trade. I found and read all four books of the FRIENDS OF MY ENEMY Tetrology expecting to find another version of the theme of Economic collapse; push-back to government over-reach; survival-challenging catastrophe; EMP/Pandemic/War induced crises such as ONE SECOND AFTER, PATRIOTS, LIGHTS OUT, etc.
What I found instead was a futuristic "dystopian romance love story" with the elements of sci-fi, war, personal conflict, epic disaster, romance, tragedy, political treachery, redemption, and survival.
The author juggles a complex series of sub-plots acted out by the various characters to create a âpage-turningâ read. Events, places, and dates span the past, the present, and mostly the future. Many junctures create potential for future expansion describing events, places, and characters not yet explored in the present series.
The characters imitate life. The Lady Grey, Arinna Prescot, heroine of the series, is a beautiful warrior of high moral values, and of true CHARACTER. Such is rare in real life, and so refreshing, even in fictional form. Every man should be blessed with a woman such as the Lady Gray.
The special men she encounters including her husband CPT Michael Prescot, Baron Vasquez, the Earl of Kesmere, and the Old Soldier CPT Vries, as well as the host of other characters, male and female, complete the range of life-like people, each playing special roles to make the Friends Tetrology a very exciting read.
The author kept my undivided attention through to the end of book four. I see real potential for a mini-series along the lines of Thrones, Hunger Games, and Star Wars. Hoping for a sequel!
Review of Book 2 of the Friends Tetrology, After The War.
The cover of Book 2 depicts a striking image of âdrop dead gorgeousâ Lady Grey, heroine of the Friends Tetrology. Guys, and Gals, who know and love âgirls with gunsâ will appreciate! My, oh my, may I never find myself on her âEnemiesâ list.
The âvictoryâ in Europe is not what the public was led to believe. Politics being the strangest beast, the deception continues.
