Angie Cooper is a member of the Patawomeck tribe, here in Virginia.  We chat about the history of the tribe, being recognized by state and federal governments, efforts to re-learn their Algonquian language, and how they are still working to reclaim artifacts and remains of their ancestors, taken almost 100 years ago.

History is Illuminating: Interview part 1

A collaborative public project with anonymous members of rogue historians who are spurring conversation with updated signage about the rich history of Richmond, Virginia.  Known as "History is Illuminating," they have already installed 6 historical plaques along Monument Avenue while the statues of confederate figures (and Columbus) are being removed.
