episode Finding Your Joy (Mental Note) artwork
Finding Your Joy (Mental Note)

Have you ever wondered why the person you want to have a relationship with isn’t ready, or doesn’t seem to be on the same page as you?  We want other people to be ready to make changes at the same time that we are ready.  But that is rarely the case, and we can’t make someone else ready for change. We have to ask the hard question of, are we making someone else a priority over ourselves.  Because we have our own traumas, our own experiences, and our own things that we have to work through and we have to work through those and find joy for ourselves.  We can’t expect other people to fill that void and we can’t expect others to be seeking out the same things at the same time as us. Finding joy should be a priority, and if someone or something is distracting from that, we have to examine why we are allowing that person or thing to distract us from the joy we deserve. -- Topics Discussed: * Are we ready for the relationship we are in? * How to deal with someone else not being on the same page as you. * Choosing yourself before someone else. * Taking a good look at what stage of life you are in. -- Connect with us! * Website: http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/ [http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/] * Email: media@itsallmentalpodcast.com [media@itsallmentalpodcast.com] * Blog: https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog [https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog] * Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/ [https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/] * Twitter: https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2 [https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ] * Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/ [https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/] -- Subscribe to us on: * iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773 [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773] * Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH [https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH] * Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental [https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9 [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9] * Google: https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu [https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu] -- Disclaimer The information presented  is NOT a substitute for, the knowledge, skill, and judgment of qualified psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians and health care professionals. episode How to Truly Support the Man in Your Life (Mental Note) artwork
How to Truly Support the Man in Your Life (Mental Note)

I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite quotes. “It is easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken men”. What does this mean? How can we support the men in our lives? I work with a lot of women in my practice who are trying to “fix” the man in their life. Although it may feel instinctual, we have to remember that everyone’s healing journey is their own and it is not your responsibility. If we know someone who needs help, we need to encourage them to get professional help. Also, one of the best things we can do is to spend our time and energy investing in this next generation by focusing on spending quality time with our children and investing in them. This is a wrap on season three! We are looking forward to connecting back with you for a powerful new season coming soon. episode Pursuing Your Dreams (Mental Note) artwork
Pursuing Your Dreams (Mental Note)

We are coming to you today to talk about pursuing your dreams. I have been talking to a variety of people over the last couple of weeks and have heard a common theme. They are in a career but do not feel like they are pursuing their passion. Have you ever felt that way? You deeply want to pursue a certain path but feel like you have invested so much time in something else? I want to challenge you today to take a look at your life and be honest with yourself, what is truly your passion? What would you choose to do as a career if there were no barriers? In this episode, I share with you a simple practice that will help you take small steps to make your dream a reality. Life's too short to work our entire lives and be unhappy. Even if you are just pursuing your passion as a hobby, you might be surprised how implementing just a little of what you love into your day can help your mental health and even slowly move you towards a career you are in love with. -- Topics Discussed: * Rediscovering your passion * A simple exercise that will help you write out your vision * Encouragement to go the unbeaten path -- Connect with us! * Website: http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/ [http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/] * Email: media@itsallmentalpodcast.com [media@itsallmentalpodcast.com] * Blog: https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog [https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog] * Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/ [https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/] * Twitter: https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2 [https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ] * Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/ [https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/] -- Subscribe to us on: * iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773 [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773] * Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH [https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH] * Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental [https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9 [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9] * Google: https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu [https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu] -- Disclaimer The information presented  is NOT a substitute for, the knowledge, skill, and judgment of qualified psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians and health care professionals. Standing Up for Your Mental Health (Mental Note)

Do you sometimes feel ashamed when talking about your own mental health? Do you worry what other people will think and does this fear keep you back sometimes from pursuing the support that you need? Today I wanted to share how proud I am of Naomi Osaka for standing up for her own mental health. She is very much in the public eye but still took a stand (at her own expense) to talk about her own mental health journey. I applaud her thousand times over. I hope this act of courage did not go over your head but you were able to see that it is okay to stand up for yourself. I also hope it encourages you to see mental health as a part of your overall health and that it is okay to talk to someone. There are so many options available for therapy. If you need any kind of support or direction on where to find the right therapist for you please use the links below to connect with us- we are here to support you! -- Topics Discussed: * The importance of therapy and finding the right therapist * Using your platform to normalize mental health * Seeing mental health as a part of your overall health -- Connect with us! * Website: http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/ [http://itsallmentalpodcast.com/] * Email: media@itsallmentalpodcast.com [media@itsallmentalpodcast.com] * Blog: https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog [https://www.pamelasmithlpc.com/blog] * Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/ [https://www.instagram.com/itsALLMental_Podcast/] * Twitter: https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2 [https://twitter.com/@itsAllMental2] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ] * Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/ [https://www.facebook.com/groups/495592024600893/] -- Subscribe to us on: * iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773 [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/its-all-mental/id1477750773] * Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH [https://open.spotify.com/show/7muFvGy3pdSuNj3W4ieudH] * Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental [https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/pamela-smith/its-all-mental] * Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9 [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXDNfncAtzyeumZsNz5tzQ?reload=9] * Google: https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu [https://play.google.com/music/listen#/ps/Irte4mt2a4rty5rzve3nshpkjpu] -- Disclaimer The information presented  is NOT a substitute for, the knowledge, skill, and judgment of qualified psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians and health care professionals. Do It Scared (Mental Note)

Have you ever wanted to pursue something but were unsure if it was the right time, or if you had what it took? How many times do we allow fear to keep us from going to the next level? Today we are going to talk about doing it scared. I have been on a journey the past several months challenging myself to do things that scare me. I have been using the hashtag #TeamDoItScared on social media and decided to look and see if that name had been established online...it has not. I knew this was an invitation for me to step into this space and create a community around those who are wanting to level up in their life and relationships by doing the things that they have been avoiding.
