I really hope they finally deliver justice to this monster. No one should be allowed to continuously abuse victims and their families with the court system or any other way. Good true crime Depend on J. T. Hunter to write an easy to read page turner that is well edited. This killer let a young victim go which of course got him identified, convicted and sentenced. Has been on death row for 33 years. He was a mentally disabled from head injuries throughout his life as well as a motorcycle wreck which changed his personality while also seen as functioning normally in society which of course he wasnt plus he lost some jobs due to inappropriate behavior plus during his end game was unemployed and killing often. However, from an early age he was deviant. The only thing that stood out for me was his remorse for the one he let go. Excellent true crime reporting JT Hunter is a well-respected author who doesn't stint on his research. The result is a well-written book that tells the story of serial killer Bobby Joe Long. Long was a nice-looking and charming young man who found it easy to get unsuspecting young women into his car. Often that was the last mistake they ever made. Then again, he wasn't averse to forcing them into his car. The savagery of his murders created a state of terror for the women and girls in the Tampa area. Police worked long hours looking for a lead, any indication of a direction to apprehend the killer before more victims were claimed. That lead came when Long abducted a 17-year-old girl and raped her for 24 hours before releasing her. WARNING: Graphic (uncensored) crime scene photos 0 Hard to put down. This is a very graphic book about the disturbing rapes and murders committed by serial killer Bobby Joe Long. It was a very interesting and graphic book that is not for the faint of heart. It includes very graphic crime scene photos of his victims. I suggest this book to anyone who reads true crime books. Horrific Iâve been a fan of JT Hunter, so when I read this new book I knew it would be interesting & would be hard to put down. Deadly deception is very disturbing. This man was beyond demented. His crimes were horrific. The story is very well written, JT has another hit here. Pictures are extremely gráfic. Not for the faint of heart.

Members Reviews: Just Getting My Stuff Back... This was really good! As Benjamin Franklin once said "If you tell a lie long enough, it soon will become fact". Yes, indeed! A motto that O.J. surely lives by, as it has apparently served him quite well over the years. Until THIS time. Without this crime being recorded, it may have turned out much differently - AGAIN. It is disgusting how the media ran nonstop with (and stuck by) O.J.s often repeated story-lie of Hey man, I was just getting my stuff back...when it was NOT his stuff. To the point of public brainwashing. And of course, downplaying the whole armed robbery intention with GUNS as well! When I told my friend I was listening to this book, HE even said Ohhh, that case where O.J. was trying to get his stuff back??? Ughhhh. Unbelievable. Might have to unfriend him...Lol This book gives you ALL the details, including transcripts of the actual crime being committed recordings. Even though I thought I knew most of the facts, this was quite revealing. For those that have been (and are) blinded by the celebrity light, this book will let you see (and hear!) the real man. This narrator was fantastic! You would swear that this was actually Andy (author) doing the narration himself! The delivery sounded JUST like a real detective who had been through this personally...and emotionally. I felt like I was there, and on the case with him. Great choice!!! Loved it. I was provided this audiobook at no cost to me for an honest review - and under the threat of perjury - I swear its a good one ;) Excellent Excellent Excellent!!! This book told me almost everything I could want to know about this case. There is so much inside information the average person never heard about. Having been the lead detective, the author takes the reader step by step through the whole case, right from the beginning. It is well written and explained in detail so I could get a feeling of how emotional and frustrating it was. He gives us a very real sense of just how much more difficult it was to lead an investigation of someone who is famous and who the public wants to hear about. We get a good look at what really happened during the armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room and how O.J. thought he could get away with it. His arrogance really comes through! For anyone who has any interest in this case, I highly recommend reading or listening to this book. I have read and listened to many true crime books over the years and I have to say this is one of the best so far.

Great book and greater Person if you get to meet him in person. I and my son had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Doherty and his lovely wife Katy at the Baltimore Comic Convention where he and the writers of Dick Tracy won the "Harvey Award" for the best continuous strip. We bought this book while at the convention so this review will not show we purchased via Amazon. That said I have told my son to also order a 2nd copy on his account so that we might also download it to his Kindle. He is an excellent writer, we thoroughly enjoyed the book and he and his wife's company at the awards dinner. Highly recommended read. Where Fact Meets Fiction If you like true crime tales short and well-told, this is your collection. Doherty has gathered an interesting group of tales (both historical and contemporary), researched them well, and recounted them in entertaining fashion. As an added bonus, he also tells when and where the true story ended up immortalized in fiction. There are far too few true crime "short story" collections on the market--and this is a welcome addition to that select group. Doherty's cop background and his penchant for research are quite evident, in both his choice of stories and in the telling. Fascinating and Enjoyable I usually read fiction but on a recommendation decided to read Just the Facts. Great read!!! The writing is tight and the stories are well researched. I agree with Joseph Wambaugh, "Addictive." I hope this becomes a series.

No longer a secret society, he brought the Mafia out into the open. He was a ruthless criminal who was mainly loyal to himself. However, I wish the author had done a better job editing the book. While the content is extremely interesting, the multiple grammar errors distracted me. For example, there are tons of run-on sentences.
