Pentecost, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and Peter and Paul all helped start the early church.

Saint Peter was the rock of the Church. Saint Paul was converted to Jesus Christ.

Peter was called the Rock of the Church because he had some of the characteristics of a rock : * Strong * Wisdom * Rough edges * Tough * Unique/irregular/different from everyone else * Base/ foundation of the Church * Did not move, stayed on Jesus' side * Not perfect.

Pentecost is after the Passover and a celebration with special prayers. It was a Jewish holiday but is now an important day for us Catholics and the Catholic church. By Amity, Celina & Denison.
