In Part 2 of this inaugural two-part episode of The Deeper Dive, we hear about how my father's anxiety built up and spilled out as the years went on and how it impacted him and I. We discuss ways his anxiety may have derived from the earlier experiences he described in Part 1 and we work to make a coherent narrative linking his past to his present and his psychology to my own.

In this inaugural two-part episode of The Deeper Dive, a podcast seeking to interview thoughtful, interesting and inspiring people about their narratives and experience from a more psychological perspective, psychologist and therapist Ron Wasser gets the ball rolling by interviewing his father with sincerity and humor about how his father's anxiety as an adult was influenced by his earlier life, and how that anxiety impacted both father and son.  This is a playful interview interspersed with accompanying commentary that examines powerful dynamics of how human psychology works in our real lives, with a focus on how our personal histories greatly impact us in both conscious and unconscious ways.  Enjoy this window into what a lot of psychotherapy seeks to examine and why understanding the psychology of our lived experience is important and valuable.
