Episode 37 — Before the Rooster Crows | John 13:31-38

Still the same room. Still the same night. Still the same table. But in John 13:31-38 everything gets really personal. Jesus calls the cross a moment of glory. He gives His disciples one commandment — love each other the way I have loved you. And then He looks at Peter — the most confident person in that room — and tells him exactly what is about to happen before it does. Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times. And Peter meant every word of his promise. He genuinely believed he would die for Jesus. He just did not know himself as well as he thought he did yet. And honestly? Most of us can relate to that more than we want to admit. This episode is for the one who has ever been confident they would never do something — and then did. The one who is tired and stretched thin and wondering if their failures are too big to come back from. The one who just needs to hear that Jesus already knew and loved you anyway. Episode 36 — He Knew - And Loved Him Anyway | John 13:18-30

Same table. Same night. Same room as last week. But in John 13:18-30 everything shifts. Jesus names the betrayal before it happens. He feels the weight of what is coming. He offers kindness to the very person who is about to hand Him over. And then He watches Judas get up and walk out into the night. In this episode we are talking about why Jesus told His disciples about the betrayal ahead of time, what it means that He was troubled in His spirit, the slow drift that leads someone away from the light, and what it looks like to just stay at the table when everything in you wants to slip out the door. This one is for the exhausted. The drifting. The newer believer still figuring out what faith looks like for their real everyday life. You do not have to have it all together to be here. In John 13:1–17, the tone of the Gospel shifts completely. The crowds are gone, the cross is near, and Jesus gathers privately with His disciples on the night before His arrest. Then He does something no one expected. He kneels down and begins washing their feet. Even after witnessing miracles, many people still chose not to believe in Jesus. In John 12:37–50, the Gospel pauses to reflect on the different ways people respond to truth. Some resisted. Some believed quietly but were afraid to admit it. And Jesus explains that His mission was not to condemn the world, but to bring light and salvation. In this episode, we explore why belief is often less about evidence and more about the willingness of the heart — and what it means to walk toward the light Jesus offers. In John 12:27–36 Jesus says something unexpected: “My soul is troubled.” Right after the crowds celebrate Him, He begins speaking about the cross. In this episode we walk through one of the most personal moments in the Gospel and talk about what it means that Jesus knowingly walked toward suffering — and what His invitation to “walk in the light” means for us today.
